Wasn't the Italians from Naples invented it? I mean, they were the ones who placed tomato sauce, cheese, and olives on top to symbolize the Italian flag or something.

Never heard about it. It is not like ours, just Italian sounding because the real "Mozzarella di bufala" is a DOP product and can't be produced outside certain areas.

Also, we use Tomatoes cultivated here for pizza not the Americans.

Baker Raffaele Esposito from Naples is often given credit for making the first such pizza pie. Historians note, however, that street vendors in Naples sold flatbreads with toppings for many years before then.

Since the majority of Neapolitans are Greek and Napoli is originally a Greek Colony... the waters get muddy.

Then, when you search the internet, it turns out everyone made Pizza long before the Italians....

In the 6th century BC, Persian soldiers serving under Darius the Great baked flatbreads with cheese and dates on top of their battle shields.

In Ancient Greece, citizens made a flat bread called plakous (πλακοῦς, gen. πλακοῦντος—plakountos)[7] which was flavored with toppings like herbs, onion, cheese and garlic.

An early reference to a pizza-like food occurs in the Aeneid (ca. 19 BC), when Celaeno, the Harpy queen, foretells that the Trojans would not find peace until they are forced by hunger to eat their tables (Book III). In Book VII, Aeneas and his men are served a meal that includes round cakes (like pita bread) topped with cooked vegetables. When they eat the bread, they realize that these are the "tables" prophesied by Celaeno.

Cool story but no Neapolitans aren't Greek. The fact that Napoli was a Greek colony is not an excuse besides, were Ancient Greeks who emigrated from poverty and war in Greece who came in Southern Italy and mixed with locals. By that logic Italians could claim every product made in Roman colonies.

Neapolitans (as Italians) are Romance Latin people not Hellenic.

The only Greeks in Southern Italy today are Grikos. Magna Grecia existed but they also fought against Greek city states. Not really feeling Greeks perhaps.
