Muslim vs. Gypsy as foreign in Europe

On Wednesday I helped my mum to go to hospital for a check up. I saw a muslim guy with his mum too. And he did the same. He helped his mum. We looked both foreign, the guy and his mum and me and my mum. But the muslims were whiter then us and the reason why they are foreign is because they wear a headveil and muslim attire. I thought they could change their look and religion but we cant change our skin colour and look and what we are. Of course we cannot demand that they change it, that is forced too, and it is freedom, but they could if they want. And we cant. So I guess we are much more deeply racialised then muslims, muslims are mostly foreign because of the way they live.

Perhaps it depends on which European country we will talk about.
In my country, Czech Republic, a lady with muslim headweil, will look more exotic, than Gypsy lady.
I meet Gypsies almost daily, but to meet a person in traditional muslim dress, in the major part of the
country, is very rare, still.

They only look foreign because they wear a headveil. I know muslims who dont wear headveil and use make up and normal dress and they dont look foreign. My mum and family always looks very foreign because of their skin colour and features not because of their clothing. Thats what I meant.

In Austria they are not. They are either southeastern europeans or turks, kurds, afghans, iranians, northafricans and they all look less exotic and whiter skinned then my family. There are black muslims though or sudanese and somali muslims though. But most muslims are not brown in austria.
