Why are Amerindians dark?

Its not SSA, AASi/ASI or Australoid type darkness, the skin tone of most Amerindians is close to MENA or Neolithic-Steppe Admixed South Asians/South Central Asians, differing from both by having reddish skin tone. But its weird, their ancestors evolved in the brutal nothern cold climate of Siberia and Beringia. Also Ameridians are descendants of people of who would be the Ancestors of the Han and North East Asians, and the another group of people who spread Pale skin and blondism in Northern Europe from the Steppes (EHG via ANE). Both populations are known for being light. Yet Amerindians are darker than both. I would understand North Africans, south asians and basal heavy MENA, but Ameridians are an outliner for a population group that cluster so north on a PCA plot.

Because they didn't evolve light skin genes that were able to rapidly spread. During the neolithic and later, light skin genes spread far and wide in separate incidents. It happened in East Asia as well. Amerindians never had the kind of migrations that would cause that to happen it was a sparsely populated area with lots of land mass.

Asians than the non-ANE part of Native Americans. And EHG developed pale skin pigmentation by 7000 BC (samara and karelia) even tho they were still hunter gatherers on the steppe and north west russia. On gedmatch, EHG is like 70% N. Euro and 30% Amerind (tho they were 75% ANE and 25% WGH).

IT doesn't matter. These genes spread wide and far through interconnectivity via agriculture and civilization+selection pressure(especially in Europe which developed their light skin relatively recently). Amerindians lacked that.

EHG lacked that connectivity. So did the 12,000 year old jomon sample. Yet they were light skinned
