The name of Illyrians as applied by the ancient Greeks to their northern neighbours may have referred to a broad, ill-defined group of peoples, and it is today unclear to what extent they were linguistically and culturally homogeneous. The Illyrian tribes never collectively regarded themselves as 'Illyrians', and it is unlikely that they utilized any collective nomenclature for themselves.

The term Illyrioi may originally have designated only a single people who came to be widely known to the Greeks due to proximity. This occurred during the Bronze Age, when Greek tribes were neighboring the southernmost Illyrian tribe of that time in the Zeta plain of Montenegro.Indeed, such a people known as the Illyrioi have occupied a small and well-defined part of the south Adriatic coast, around Skadar Lake astride the modern frontier between Albania and Montenegro. The name may then have expanded and come to be applied to ethnically different peoples such as the Liburni, Delmatae, Iapodes, or the Pannonii. In any case, most modern scholars are certain the Illyrians were not a homogeneous entity.

Ok, so in 7th Century who spread Islam and what did these people believe before they knew Muhammad? Can you answer this or no
To Bosniaks? To everyone on Balkans.

All Nations on Balkans exist only because of Religious differences, Greeks, Turks included.

Do you really think that Turkey and Greece would exist if they were of the same religion?

Do you believe that Bosniaks and Serbs would be two different nations if they were of the same religion?

    No No.

    1 faith 1 nation.

Why do you feel they need to explain our existence to these outsiders. They will never understand our tribal mentality so who cares.

Albanians are mostly Illyrian but they also got some Slavic admixture. Of course there is no reason to believe two Illyrian tribes from different parts of the Balkan were exactly the same. Croatian Illyrians were North Italian-like (see the Iron Age Croatian sample) while southern Illyrians might have been more Greek-like based on how Albanians look like.

If you are one nation with Yugoslavians then why did your ethnic group choose Islam?

I know the answer, is complex historical and genetically answer, I am asking you. And I am asking you second question who spread Islam in 7th century? What is their name? What did they ancestors believe before they met Prophet Muhammad?

yeah, those samples don't work well for Bosnians. either Bosnian Illyrians were genetically different from those from the Croatian coast, more Thracian like, or they were completely replaced by Romans.

Many Bosnians are muslims from all over Balkans, not necessarily native to Bosnia (most are though)
Roman impact in Bosnia must have been very, very small.
