Could Rumelia spark a war between Balkan states? I think it would be a prime opportunity for the Serbs to recapture Montenegro or to push southward toward the sea. I am not gonna say I hope this happens, but it seems like the logical progression if Turkey cannot defend Rumelia and Russia starts exerting more influence in the Balkans and Rumelia.

If turkey is weakened then Russia fills in the Mediterranean void, the crux of Russian foreign policy objective since the times of the Tsar (an continuously thwarted by one Anglo-Saxon power to another).

You mean Kosovo? There will be another war. The US is becoming more disinterested with Europe and Nato in general. Trump's attitude towards the Russo-Turkish rift proves it as well as Brexit. I've said this before and I'll say it again, Britain and the US will make their own alliance. The EU will disintegrate even further, let's face it Europe is a lost cause and by that I mean Western Europe, China's economy has been in slow decline for decades now. Also throw in Covid-19 which is making things even worse for them since swathes of China's economy are shut down, this could all be planned who knows, but anyway it's 2020. Something's gotta give this decade and it won't be pretty.

And that will Terrify the Anglo world, and there will new containment strategies against Russia. They would probably support Islamist extremist against russia

Kosovo could be a casualty but I think with the tensions between Montenegrins who identify as Serb and the government and the U.N and Nato being wrapped up with Turkey and Syria, Serbia really has a great window to get back claimed land, there are other countries like Bulgaria, Macedonia etc that could make power plays in Turkish Rumelia too. If Russia was smart they would pad their influence with allies and satellites instead of getting greedy. If they hold the straits and Constantinople they could leave the remnants of the Turks to deal with the Kurds and still get what they want. I doubt they would have that much forethought and stratagem though.

No I think the opposite will happen. Why would that terrify the US? The "Anglo" world isn't afraid of Russia, Eastern Europe is. The truth is East Europeans( this includes those wanna-be "Central European" countries) are and always have been Russia's little bitch. They've only been hiding under the US skirt but that time has come now where the US dosn't give a shit about Europe anymore.

The Dardanelles really don't matter though, they only really benefit a handful of countries most of which already are allied to Russia, they aren't going to give Russia any more strategic depth than it can already exercise.
