Its not a terrible idea.

The ready reserves are not active military. They arent even national guard. These are people that have been completely discharged from active or NG service but will now have the choice to go back in.

Many of the may be laid off of their regular jobs or otherwise unemployed due to the chinese virus.

Trump has just put them back on the payroll and without using any active forces.

I bet the democrats hate this idea...was it an executive order?

There was no military defeat. The defeat was economical because America, who had deliberately bombed friendly targets all over Europe during the war, decided to use Marshall aid as a way to force Europeans to follow the American line. That's also how they forced the Dutch to go to Korea for them.

It was the same in Vietnam.

In July 1974 (Colonel Harry Summers, US Army) returned to Vietnam as chief of the Negotiations Division of the Four Party Joint Military Team (FPJMT). The main task of the U.S. delegation was to resolve the status of those Americans still listed as missing. The troops will mostly consist of units and personnel with high demand medical capabilities whose call-up would not adversely affect their civilian communities, Hoffman said.

Before calling up National Guard Reserve Component units under this executive order, Esper and the Department of Health and Human Services will first consult with state officials.
