New modular infectious diseases hospital in Yerevan is almost ready
On March 18 the construction of a new modular infectious diseases hospital in Yerevan was launched. At this point, installation work is already approaching completion. The modular infrastructure is equipped with ventilation, heating, fire alarm and Internet connection systems.

Coronavirus: The European Union stands by Armenia
As part of its global response to the coronavirus outbreak, the European Commission stands by Eastern Partner countries and has reallocated €140 million for the most immediate needs including for Armenia. In addition, the Commission will also redirect the use of existing instruments worth up to €700 million across the region to help mitigate socio-economic impact of the coronavirus crisis.

Armenian Parliament Approves Bill Allowing Access to Phone Data to Fight Coronavirus
The Armenian National Assembly today passed a bill permitting authorities to access personal data from people’s mobil telephones to monitor the movement of individuals and thus halt the spread of the coronavirus.
Today’s vote followed the bill’s first reading and must be approved a second time before it is sent to President Armen Sarkissian for signing.
Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan introduced the bill to lawmakers, saying that it would facilitate the identification and isolation of those who have been exposed to infected individuals.
Badasyan claimed authorities would not have access to the content of phone calls.
