The 1971 winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, Simon Kuznets, stated that, based on their economic performance, there were four kinds of countries: developed countries, developing countries, Argentina and Japan. Democracy and politics involve choosing the path that a country will travel along. Both Argentina and Japan are currently facing many economic problems, but their evolution over time couldn’t have been more different.
