if i didn’t laugh at myself, i’d cry... a lot.

having said that, too much of anything is bad.

if someone was always poking fun of themselves or undermining their choices or personality traits with self deprecating humor, i’d probably ask them in private if they’re okay. i think that’s why meme culture is really popular. it’s easier to make light of heavy situations without the longterm commitment.
