Hm. If it were left up to me, I would only eat meat, eggs, and vegetables, with a small portion of dairy (no more than half a cup of milk and a slice of cheese or cup of non-sweetened yogurt).
Grains and starches make me hungry, and sugar makes me grumpy besides all the other health problems associated with it.
No doubt. Plenty of people report great health benefits eating all sorts of extremely restrictive diets. I've heard of many of them. That doesn't mean that such restrictive diets are good for long term consumption. Also, not all diets are good for everyone. There are variations between human populations (based on regional adaptations) that make certain diets more beneficial for some as opposed to others.
