Botsaris was a Souliotis, ie a Romios. O grammatikos tou, Vasilis Goudas (Born in Ioannina) says that clearly in the description of his funeral at Mesologgi.

Chams called Souliotes as ''Graikous''. Athanasios Psallidas, a secretary of Ali Pasha, stated that Souli (also known as Kakosouli) contained Greek fighters who fought against the Albanians for many years. Beli Pasha, son of Ali Pasha, sent letters to his father from April to December 1803 calling the Souliotes "Romans", "Romioi" and "Romegans", that is, ethnic Greeks.

With "civil war" i mean that it was Albanians vs Albanians.

I know that Albanians were orthodox initially.

It's irrelevant. We have to look of what foreigners, travelling in the Ottoman Empire, have wrote about them.

Woman, I hate to rain on your parade but you are spewing out nonsense. Why are you so insistant that everything is Greek? Ali Pasha was at best a pragmatic intriguer and at worst a bloodthirsty warlord. The city of Voskopoja was a thriving hub for Orthodox Albanians, Greeks, and Vlachs until they resisted him. Only for him and his Lab followers to sack the city. Do you honestly sympathize with that, given what the Turks did to relics in your country?

I've talked to you before, and while I'm sure you may be a very nice person in real life. You seem to be very concerned about injustice. Frankly your chauvinism clouds you judgement often.

Being Greek is an experienced grounded into nation, not consumption.

Are you able to understand that whatever their background was, they joined the revolution of Greeks and killed your own freakin ancestors or you're so desperate in your attempt to find something to make you proud of your Albanian background that you end up admiring your own ancestor's killers?

Hurriedin Barbarossa was of Greek origins, but no Greek is so desperate and wannabe to consider him a hero since he killed other Greeks in the name of ottomans, no matters if he was so important for the ottomans that technically he expanded the life of the ottoman empire for 2 centuries

It's really disgusting to see a whole nation worshipping people who killed their ancestors
