I don't understand the question?

Was Farsi not present in Iran from the very beginning of the Persians? Which language spoke Cyrus The Great? Median or Persian? Although he had a Median mother he said he was a Persian.

And here is the lineage of Darius. He was a Persian for sure. So Farsi was spoke in Iran/Persia since the beginning I guess.

I mean New Persian language (after Arab conquest), which aroused in Khorasan. Farsi became dominant in Iranian cities after Seljuk or Ilkhan conquest replacing former Pahlavi (descended from Medes-Parthian language) dialects of Western Iran. Villagers of Western Iran continue to speak dialects derived from Pahlavi (such as Central Iranian language, Semnani, Tati of Iran) and Middle Persian (dialects of Fars and Tati of Soviet Azerbaijan) languages.

Change to Farsi happened before Seljuks, it was popularized in metropolitan areas by Muslim Iranian dynasties of Khorasan and Central Asia like Tahirids, Samanids, Saffarids etc. Seljuks spread it to the western Iran / Iraq, which was was previously under Buyid rule, whose official language was still Middle Persian (Because the founder was Zoroastrian). Farsi represents middle Persian with Arabic / Muslim additions
