Blondie were an awesome band, the drummer Clem Burke is one my favourite drummers. They were kind of a pop rock band but Clem has a really punchy style ,kinda like he shoulda been in a band like Metallica but he fitted in with Blondie, that is not the best approxiamation but my point is he provides a really punchy semi hard edge drumming style to otherwise middle of the road 80's new wave pop rock.

I'm not into the ultra-Nordic look myself but I understand that a lot of people are. People who are insecure about not fitting that ideal have a tendency to be very hyperbolic about it. He has to convince himself that the people he envies look like ugly cartoon characters so he feels better.

Debbie Harry had a somewhat unique look, style and vocals, Miley can sound ok singing some country songs like Jolene an other Dolly Parton style stuff.
My point was that singing Blondie songs well and making it work with the right affect is not as easy as it may seem.
