It's from these two books that mention this,

    https://books.google.com/books?id=9R...lpiana&f=false

    https://books.google.com/books?id=GC...lpiana&f=false

I know there is more and there used to be more information about this. I am trying to find more books. The Western part of Kosovo is called ''Rrafshi Dukagjinit'' by Albanians meaning ''lowlands/plains of Dukagjini'' (for the non Albanian speakers here) whereas there is also the ''Highlands of Dukagjini'' in Northern Albania.

I see the English wiki page of this historical figure has been edited by Serbian sources from Serbian books basically that have removed this information and now claiming he was born in Mirdita, something I never heard of.

No mention that this principality ruled of Kosovo or about the toponym of Dukagjini.

He was born after the Battle of Kosovo 1389, so this means medieval Albanians were the last to hold the region of Kosovo right before Ottoman conquest.

Here, Albanian wiki says the same thing

    https://sq.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lek%C3%AB_Dukagjini

Don't mind the English one as it's filled with Serbian sources.

Kosovo was ruled by medieval Albanians prior to Ottoman conquest and it had a Catholic Albanian population. I know there also used to be Orthodox Albanians. Legend has it we were first Orthodox Christians but I'm not sure about this. There are also some Orthodox Albanian churches in Kosovo.
