Yeah, definitely mixed with Vlachs. Such Russians don't exist in Russia unless they are from Moldova.

They are from here, but actually live in Russia (part of the wave that left straight after the fall of the Soviet Union).

Two confirmed Russians from Chisinau. They seem to be as mixed genetically, as that Transnistrian Russian from Bender. I wonder how many Russians have this kind of profile, but I suppose the wide majority. Russophone families, apart from those who are living in monoethnic regions like Gagauzia, are usually heavily mixed with locals. That's pretty normal here.

Not necessarily true, it's just because Gagauzia is monoethnic, which was the whole point of the autonomy, to preserve your culture. But those in Chisinau mix without second thoughts.

Well, almost monoethnic then, but the point is that they are mainly Gagauz, so it makes sense that most of them won't mix outside of their ethnicity in the autonomy. Outside of it, I personally didn't notice the same tendency.

Weird surname, which barely exists (6 households apparently), but it seems to exist solely in towns with ethnic minorities and their suburbs. Maximovca for example is plurality ethnics.

The root doesn't mean anything in Romanian nor Russian (unless it's shortened from "берег"). The eding "-ici" is shared with South Slavs, but it also exists in Moldovan surnames.

The guy himself is Russophone and probably identifies as Russian ethnically:
