I wonder what effect this will have on the election, considering Democrats were ready to believe Justice Kavanaugh was a rapist with no real evidence? Will they still believe women, no questions asked? Either way this will likely turn out to be really bad for them.

Technically, this applies only in court cases where the defendant is accused of a criminal act. If someone makes a false accusation in public, the one way you have of chastening them is filing a civil suit for slander. In this type of case, (I think that) you only have to persuade half of the jurors to vote in your favor.

No matter what type of political system you have, it will work better if the nation's people are good citizens on the whole. Of course, I want to keep the system that America has had, but I also believe that this is true.
