When I started going to my first parties. I was 15 first cigarette, first beer, first night out and I asked a girl "Darf ich dich um diesen Tanz bitten" and she said "No thanks". "Darf ich dich um diesen Tanz bitten" means "Can I ask for this dance". I think that was weird as fuck for the early 2000s that was maybe common 100 years ago. But I watched too many movies I guess. Later I didnt anymore. But she said "Thank you" so being polite was ok I guess. If I were a rude, she would likely tell me to fuck off.
