Good link. It shows that in the South, the white people live shorter lives vs whites in other states. They can't use minorities as an excuse.

this is back from 2000. I couldnt find a detailed breakdown by group other than this or for any other state. I'll try to find one more recent but the way each group places might be roughly the same. It breaks down asian groups further. Japanese surprisingly arent the highest. Indians, Chinese, Koreans, and Viets are higher.

Vietnamese coming in strong but notice they are foreign born in the table. It must be the pho and vermicelli. Japanese are the 3rd highest for men i think. Indian women seem to live long in the US. There is about a 14 year gap between Asians and Blacks.

I think climate, diet, and wealth are the reasons for the West Coast and maybe Florida. In the northeast, it's probably education, wealth and good state healthy care. Utah has Mormons that don't drink or smoke, Colorado is healthy/outdoorsy, and Minnesota is Sweden. Hawaii seems the most obvious given the large Japanese population

Fucking asians living forever. Hawaii obviously at top lol. I'm surprised by California and New YorK though. They have very high diversity with people and cultures from all over the world with varying incomes and health as well.

and wow i didnt know appalachian region and southern states were only in mid 70s.
