I work with and have worked with quite a few poles and I have to say overall their look surprises me - not at all slavic looking overall.
Of course there are the robust Russian looking Poles, who stand a mile out, but overall I wouldnt say that are more than 15-20% maybe.
I understand here is a north south gradient as with all continental Europe in terms of hair colour, eyes etc, but most poles I meet you couldn't separate from the domestic population.
In many cases I have seen a family assuming them to be from the UK originally, but after speaking to them they are Polish.
Apart from the much lower number of slavic - looking poles are the large number of baltic looking and straight up nordic poles, to the extent I would guess many to be swedish.
I would consider Poland to be north or at least central european now, rather than eastern. Is this fair?
