Precisely because of the existence of translators I don't need to learn that language whose writer is easy, buuuuuut, whose oral is impossible, very different from a southern Romance and easy to forget.
I have learned Italian and a little French (French, being a "popular" language I am surprised by its difficulty and closure ), I have done it pleasantly because in the French case, a 'tought', extensive, highly evolved, "germaniced", deformed latin, I could resort to etymologies to find the ancestors of words, ancestors that in Spanish referred to living or deceased sister words.,
but English / German is literally another world
