Is softly, softly Sweden heading for catastrophe?

They could be reaching a peak now but it's still not even close to Italy and Spain even without a lockdown. Italy cases seem to be petering out while Swedish cases rise.

Sweden has made their own decisions and so far leaders here seemed to believe on those. I have mentioned historical reasons (earlier) but someway Sweden is also ''self-conscious'' enough to simply not just go and copy all the others. Personally I think Sweden is gambling more than others ... time will show was it ''right'' or ''wrong'' decision. I'm worry about the last.


Here leaders simply hope that:


* epidemic would go through very quickly in Sweden vs other countries (those which tries to stop/slower epidemic). Sweden believes on the idea that then enough of people have already gone through the virus, the epidemic/virus can not spread anymore. Too many being resisstance for it. One kind of ''cover of the pack'' idea.

* Swedes would be wise enough to protect their old people (by themselves) and here mainly those younger/stronger could have this virus now (see above). Actually just like I'm doing ...trying to limit the chances that my grandparents would get it (doing all behalf of them).

* people would be wise enough to behave correctly, and not needs tight laws/regulations. Again Sweden hopes that most of people who will get virus are ones who can survived from it without needs of hospital care or bed places (risks of bed places is one of the main reasons why Finland tries to slower epidemic).

* vaccine would come very quickly now. Plus other medicines would come up to help the sitaution a bit before vaccine.

* numbers of deaths would not rise too high. What a longer epidemic will last in Sweden, the worse all will look for them.

* virus could change a bit (less aggressive form)

* as the epidemic (last shorter time) its influence to economy and humans life will be smaller vs many other country which chose another road.


Britain firstly tried bit same as Sweden, but I guess estimates started to look too bad in UK ... and they changed their course. Of course Brits are not Swedes / Scandinavaians.

No matter what; the pressure to do something more rises also here together with increasing numbers of death people. For example yesterday Sweden set up new limitations like: how many people can be in shops at the same time, limitations to public traffic, limitations to sport clubs, risk group people are now directly asked to leave from homes as rarely as possible. But for example schools still stays open here. At least for now on.

Deaths in Sweden has risen again +43 being 282 now. Finland +2 and total 19 (cases 1518).

Confirmed cases in Sweden 5500 (+500 in last day).
What makes things even more worry, now there are lots of older people (> 70 years old).

I start to really be worry ... behalf of my own grandparents.




Skåne (south) is not as bad as Stockholm's area but immediately among of few next ones.

The old peoples homes of 44 municipalies have been confirmed corona virus, plus old people homes of 50 municipalies are already suspected of corona.
Sweden denied visitings to old people homes yesterday.

the longer it takes to implement strict quarantine measures the higher the death count but also death rate (hospitals can't cope).

everyone learned this the hard way. swedes are playing with fire.

Just Thursday PM Stefan Löfven said (as he was asked to) that nobody can give any estimates final numbers of death people .... just day later (Friday) he said that we will gonna see thousands of death people.
