April 2, 2020 Libya
Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, the spokesperson of the Libyan National Army (LNA), revealed that 20 Turkish soldiers were killed in an air strike targeting a site of militias of the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Misrata.
[Libya, 2 April 2020] – Al-Mismari, in exclusive statements to Al-Ain News website on Wednesday, said that the LNA strikes against the flight operations room in the Air Force College in Misrata killed 20 Turkish soldiers.
He explained that 7 Turkish soldiers were targeted inside the operating room while the remaining 13 were killed in the Air College residence.
He added that the recent casualties bring the death toll of the Turkish army in Libya to more than 50, following the two memoranda of understanding illegally signed by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the GNA President Fayez al-Sarraj last November.
The LNA spokesperson indicated that the death toll of the Syrian mercenaries in Libya rose to 500 last week, pointing out that Fayez al-Sarraj’s militias are placing these mercenaries in the frontlines on most battle fronts, especially in eastern Misrata and the vicinity of the capital, Tripoli.
