FYI
Data from Cheboksarov, Vitov and Mark (’59) used as supposed “Byelorussians” from Drysa and Smorgon

were clearly Catholic Poles.

Its quite interesting that 4 class (dark hair) % in Smorgon is the lowest among all Baltic series except the Curonians

A lot of Belarusians (perhaps the majority) look very Baltic. Then you get a lot of people like Lukashenko who look considerably southern or exotic compared to others. Not sure if it's foreign admix or if it's a normal part of the phenotypical spectrum there.

I guess it could just be reflective of migratory patterns. Some from the Baltic states (Lithuania) and some from, say, southern Poland.
