Default Which country would you consider to be more 'European': Japan or Gabon?

Note how I say more 'European' as opposed to 'Western' or 'Westernised', for the two are not the same thing entirely. Playing devil's advocate here: even though Gabon is rather poorer than Japan, at the same time it could be argued that Gabonese are more 'European-like' in the sense they mostly speak French and are Christian, whereas very few Japanese speak any European language well (not even English) and their religious traditions are Shintoism, Buddhism and Taoism.

Many of your quetions are quite interesting, but plenty of them are also very silly. For example, what does Gabon being 'rather poorer than Japan' have to do with issue here?

Because many people (wrongly) equate being more European-like with being more wealthy.

Okay, so we actually agree with one another. Yeah, some do that and it's outright dumb.

What about Japan vs Philippines? The latter is mostly English-speaking and Catholic, even if once again poorer and less developed.

Don't know much about Gabon but there is just about nothing similar at all between Europe and Japan. Completely different cultures and mentalities in pretty much every sense except for maybe clothing lol.
