    Default Romanian accent in Transylvania

Would you guys say that Romanian accent in Transylvania is influenced by Hungarian? Do you recognize inflections specific to Hungarian?

See this vid with slightly exaggerated Transylvanian accent, do you hear something familiar?

I think Hungarian members are not really familiar with Romanian accents. I don't know much about them either.

I kinda hear a Hungarian like intonation here and there, but that's about it. "Csabi" sounds like my parents, when they try to speak Romanian.

They sound like Estonians when they speak Russian, that is extremely slow.

they start the sentence fast and end it veeery slow. it's a specific rhythm.

your observation is interesting, it might be something finno-ugric about the rhythm.

Sounds caricaturish and sterile compared to the real one.

this is a parody, the accent is exaggerated. nonetheless, the specifics of the local accent are emphasized.

however, I'm interested in how a Moldovan from the Republic hears the Transylvanian accent. Can you post what is in your view a better rendition of it?

Sure. This one I think is close to real one. The part starting at 5:00 is the most interesting. The pokerfaces of the jury are priceless.

Almost sounds like some stereotypical Italian accent to my American ear.

I'm thinking the accents in the this movie are more accurate. At least more like my grandparents that grew up in Transylvania.

I see. This one though sounds less Hungarian influenced.
