You mean like Bengalis or Biharis? Not really, no. I mean, westerners consider Black Africans as Blacks as well as the Australian aborigines. South Asians as a whole have a distinct look, and thus they don't regard them as Blacks. The same can be said about Modern Southern Arabians like the people of Socotra who are Veddoid admixed.

That's cringe-y LARP fuel. I guess the South Indian separatists would be amenable to such notions, as they help with the decoupling of Indian history.

I'm sure my ancestors and Mughal era upper caste Hindus of the North, thought along similar lines (as in the dark/South Indian population are a race unto themselves - William Dalrymple mentions this in The Last Mughal, as being the introduction of racism to the British, by the Delhi court).

Still, I don't think the Africans who believe in these fantasies, quite grasp the contempt and ridicule they invite upon themselves with these thirsty pilferings of the history and heritage of other races.

The South Indian kingdoms traded with Rome, Greece and much of the ancient world, they were their own entity, with their own imperial projects (going in the direction of South East Asia, mostly).

They never made any particular overtures to Africa, even though they clearly sailed around them. You'd imagine some interaction and self-identitication ...

This stuff is at the same level as those websites and YouTube videos pushing the notion that Mozart, Beethoven, Shakespeare etc., were all black and the white man stole the black man's history.

The only truth is that Indians aren't a race, and there's always tensions in keeping this new nation together.

Some (or many) people say there's a connection between groups of Indians and Australian Aboriginals (Australoids). I still don't really understand it and I didn’t really deal with this topic, maybe someone here could give us some explanation.
