As for triangulation, I don't think it works very well with phones. You probably give up an approximate location (the last BTS to which you have been connected) but that would be it. The extreme case would be a single antenna for a small and packed city, positioned on a skyscraper for example, or a single antenna for multiple small towns in the country side which would be of no use to the CIA and the like.
But I agree, very probably, locating precisely your phone would be much easier in the future with the help of the 5G network, depending on what it contains, how packed it is, etc.
Also, note that some providers still may switch to 2G even if 4G is available for the purposes of lowering costs. That of course comes with its security "risks". Or "opportunities" depending on which side you stand.

I am aware of everything you said and actually you can use cell phone towers to triangulate someone's position just ask kevin mitnick As far as being 'fucked already' I generally don't use a cell phone (I'm that guy) and if I do on the run it is a burner phone at most.
