It depends on what you mean by paleo-Balkanites. If you restrict the definition to Paleolithic populations then you're right.
If you talk about Neolithic and younger populations then no. Ancient Greeks describe their northern Balkan neighbors as more northern, unsurprisingly.

Again my man, you're basing your understanding on a handful of samples.

Greeks themselves consistently described their northern neighbors as lighter haired. I would give them the benefit of the doubt. I think they knew better the word they lived in than us.

Actually I have a feeling that Ghegs may be equidistant to us and Bulgarians. Tosks are southern and every Greek group is southern than Tosks.
