I've always found this interesting..
Scandinavia has a high genetic admixture of Indo European DNA, Norway having some of the highest in Europe overall, so why isn't R haplogroups more common today?
I think there's a few theories that could make sense.
1. Some inhabitants in pre-PIE Scandinavia could have made a deal with for their families continuance, or had great sums of minerals or knowledge of some sort of craft that only they could pass on.
2. The Invaders thought highly of the population already in Scandinavia, maybe they looked or acted similar
I'm not sure. What do you think? OR what do you know? Because I haven't researched this enough yet, and there could be more solid info.
