    Hahaha yes,
    Kök = Gök (Sky/Blue)

    But I thought it’s something about Kök/Köken as “root”. What does it mean anyway?

    Kökény is the Hungarian word for the plant sloe, which happens to be blue. This word is borrowed from Turkic, I read that we got it from the Avars, but I don't know how true is that.

    Anyway we say 'Kék' for Blue.
