I think minority groups with immigrant background are here mostly to 'defend' themselves against misconceptions. Because many wrong things have been said about them. Just like about the Jews 100 years ago.

By the way, I don't understand the obsession of the Eastern Europeans, since Eastern European countries don't have a lot immigrants with Muslim background from Muslim countries.
