Can Europe disconnect itself from United States politics and form unified Armed Forces?

Recently, Germany bought 30 Super Hornets from United States.

Those are carrier jets therefore if you don't have a carrier all it's advantages are basically disadvantages cause folded wings can carry less fuel and you have 0 use of folded wings if you don't have a carrier.

Why are Europeans still buying American trash or expensive military equipment as if Europe isn't capable to handle itself?

Germany is buying discarded trash from United States as it isn't capable to produce 5 times better and DOMESTIC or even better European jet like Eurofighter or Eurocopter etc..

Why are German, French, Italian armed pathetic in comparison with like Pakistan, India etc...

Is there no consensus to create European Armed Forces ?

Why are Europeans still dependent on United States ?

I can't believe that no European politician even dare to question dependency on United States as a form of modern slavery.

It's a simple equation
From the european point of view:
All of the western european countries think alike, so no real risk of conflict in that sense like the 19th century
The only real threat is Russia, but America will immediately come attack them if they are aggressive which they know Russia won't risk
So what reason do they have? Their only threat is Russia and they know America will come save the day anyways. They are not like countries around the world who have large hostilities with neighboring nations or dealing with terrorism

There was talk of a European army in the context of the EU.
But with increasing anti EU tendencies I don't think we will ever see it. It would be an interesting project though

Europeans cant decide between USA as an ally, others Europe (more correctly EU) and some want both cakes.

America became dominant as WW2 ended.. and the Atlantist Monnets and Retingers got much say. The Cold War secured American connection and to this day some of that cold war rhetoric remains.


Also I dont see how German-France leadership can create strong army. (or get enough trust especially in certain countries).
