    Default My LivingDNA results :

My livingDNA results make everything else look like trash even Davidksi's G25. Davidski's G25 insist my closest 1 population is Dutch which is I think is highly dubious. I know I have two Irish grandfathers and LivingDNA says I am 50.4% Irish -- that is dead accurate ! The rest is English with a little bit of Scottish. Now I do have 25% Ancestry from Alsace-Lorraine but all that kraut and north French ancestry when mixed around with 75% British isles just logically comes out as English probably which makes perfect sense to me :

This is definitely better for people of British isles descent than retarded American science like AncestryDNA and 23andme ! I guess some Irish folks would be upset that livingdna does not show a breakdown for Ireland like it does for Scotland and England etc.. but I don't care. I think being about half Irish and half English with a dash of Scottish more or less makes me Scottish or if this showed a single closest population it would be Scottish not Irish or English but this is still better than that ancestryDNA trash I took.

Congrats on being half Irish. It's not so bad is it

So now you know. 1/2 Irish, 1/4 British, 1/4 Alsatian. That does not a Scot make though.

Depends, the Swaefas tribe settled in Swaffham England and that is basically the Swabian tribe from Alsace more or less that is why it is showing up as English in my results. Also, there were French Huguenots an Flemish (Benelux) artisans in Britain and lowland Scotland. Also, Mary Queen of Scots House of Guise was in Lorraine (Alsace-Lorraine) France and she was half French. There is also the Cross of Lorraine in Scotland :

Cool, we got somewhat similar results. Now, I don't think we are literally Scottish (you Australian and I'm American) but if there was a singe closest population we are closest to it would be Scotland and not Ireland or England. Remember, you did the G25 PCA analysis for You, Grace and I and you said that (I paraphrase) : "we could all pass as Scottish " ?

The ancestry from Huguenots, Flemings or Swabians in Britain would be fairly minor, the similarity of those parts (SW Germany / NE France) to Southern England is because of shared Celto-Germanic origins going back thousands of years.

Broham , it may be hard for you to swallow because you are more Northern English and midland English but the Southern English are part Kraut (I don't mean just Anglo-Saxon but actual Kraut) and part French. :

I would never say something like that, good heavens. I'm not Scottish and neither are you.

Damn, Broham, you are really going to make me hunt down that post of yours now so you can eat your own words ? Damn, that is going to be work man !

If we are not Scottish what would our single closest population be in G25 or Gedmatch terms then ?
