Default Do you think Russell Hitchcock sounds like a woman?

The guy in Air Supply who sang the higher notes and a lot of people say he sounds like a girl. If they are singing the same note, probably the timbre is different, I never thought he sounded like a female though.

He has the kind of voice that sounds feminine, but you can tell it's a man—at least to me.

Nah, just a high voiced dude doing formulaic performances, raking in millions, nothing grating and quite pleasant to hear once, but no wow-factor to deserve any awards. With his hair and their ephemeral jingles they should more suitably be known as Puffball Supply.

I am quite impressed with his voice, though. I think he stuck with the genre that worked for it best. He didn't force it either. He stayed within his range.

Yes, his voice is fine, it's the compositions that needed some inventiveness to get legitimate critical appreciation.

For me, all of Air Supply's songs seem to meld together. They come off as interchangeable. Every time one gets played on the "classic rock" station, it takes me a few seconds to realize that "I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend..." (ad nauseam) isn't going to be sung because it is actually a different song.

The closest thing I can compare it to is discovering that Rick Astley had a second hit. I have been hearing "Never Forever" forever while never noticing it wasn't "Never Going to give you up".

So many things I have heard mostly on the car radio just need to stay on the car radio.

They are more talented than any Beatles that ever lived, that's for sure! . And he could really sing. It's not a bad thing they had a style and they stuck to it. My favorite is "Even the Nights are Better".

Hitchcock is a fine singer. One thing he shares with Rick Astley is it would have been nice if they recorded something with a little more meat on its bones. It is hard to judge whether they have any character in their voices in the songs they recorded.

That is a generally applicable life truth.
