Default Were the Irish one of the European groups that most mixed with other races in the USA?

I have researched and many African-Americans have Irish surnames and that some Native American-White mixes have it too, but why did the Irish mix more than other European groups like the English and Germans?

I don't think any ethnic group outmarried more than any other here in America. If blacks have Irish names, it's probably because Irish held slaves.

You mean slave plantations? If so, the majority belonged to the WASP and a minority to Germans.

The majority did, but not all.

Furthermore, by 1865, the Irish and the WASP had lived alongside each other for 200+ years. They weren't completely distinct groups.

The Irish were treated much worse than WASP, at least Irish Catholics suffered a lot of discrimination at almost the same level that Mexicans currently receive.
The Irish were the Mexicans of the 19th century.

Pablo, freed slaves made up new family names, like Freeman or Freedman, or borrowed (stole) their neighbours names, which is why you have African-Americans with Irish and Scottish last names. One southern general said the north won because they had more Irish, and many blacks took the last name of their first employer after moving north, mostly Irish last names.

So it seems that blacks of that time love Irish surnames.
Both Confederate and Unionists had many Irish people, the difference was that New York and Boston (territories loyal to the Union) were the main ports of arrival for Irish immigrants, so the union army not only had densely populated territories Also received every week thousands of immigrants who joined the army in exchange for resources and citizenship.
