The point was that the French IA ancestry arrived after the Iron Age and Roman period, so no, it's not more native, it came alongside and after the Anglo-Saxons (Duncan Sayer said it was related to Franks). The fact that the Welsh don't have it only points to it being post-Roman, when England and Wales divided.

How germanic would be West Middlands and Northumberland?

I made these maps based on the ones they did but with bolder lines Red is Germanic, Green is continental Celtic (from Franks and Normans apparently) and Blue is insular Celtic (which is derived from older bell beaker genetics)

From what Ive read online England Is majority Celtic/Britonic with only 35% of their DNA being from those Viking Anglosaxons savages.

According to the map from TheOldNorth West Middlands would be like 30-40% Germanic about viking i think it would be less but almost all germanic people are similar genetically so is hard getting them apart that could be the reason of why my maternal grandfather sometimes gets Scandinavian instead of English sometimes in some calculators.

Interesting, what percent are your English on the calculators? cant wait to get my AncestryDNA results I think I would score probably up 20% Basque and France my grandmother was from a region where many Basques and Hispanized French settled since the region its close to Los ALtos de Jal.

For me it should be around 12% genealogically i'm 1/8 English but well you know about the overlap in some samples and other things...


Here i used Iberian samples, English, Italian and polish wich are my known ancestry ( i have little norwegian from Nordland but is sooo old that it's obviously not shown)
