Polynesians are interesting for just how good of sailors they were, like they beat the vikings! That's a difficult feat for a pre-Renaissance society

I enjoy having roots where I live for centuries and millenia (and likely even back to Stone Age). I pass villages where I know that ancestors lived 500 years ago. It's a good feeling to be in such a continuity. To me at least.
