Hi everyone,

I'm Canadian of Croatian origin, I've always been fascinated with history (Roman, Medieval, etc) and find genetics just as interesting, if not more difficult to fully understand.
Like everyone, I want to know who my ancestors were, what they did, and where they were in history. I'm generally interested in the origins of Croats and South Slavs, and our relations to other peoples. I want to learn who we may have been before the spread of Slavic culture, and what that may mean. I also want to bring up seemingly nonsensical things I've heard online, with the hopes that more knowledgeable people may be able to help me decipher them.

I used to post a bit on Eupedia, but that site barely gave me any of the answers I craved. I don't know what to expect here, but it seems far more lively to say the least.

Croatians are 57.2% Slavic(SW Russian or NE Ukrainian-like), 27% Croatian Iron Age/Bronze Age(North Italian-Iberian like), 10% Roman the rest is Celtic and very minor Germanic.
