As for OP, it's part of sexual dimorphism. Men are darker than women relative to race, so light is considered feminine while dark is considered masculine. Of course, this is very subjective as well, and there are plenty of outliers and whatnot. It's also most obvious in groups of people who are more middle-ranged in pigmentation, such as Meds and East Asians, and less obvious with those who are very dark or very light, such as N. Europeans and W. Africans/Aboriginals.

It's even made it into our artwork. The concept is quite old. For example, this famous Roman couple:

I've also noticed that even in interracial relationships the men mostly tend to be of the darker race/ethnicity (although there are exceptions, of course).

There really are not that many blonde woman globally and they tend to dye their hair blonde also. I have noticed in the Americas that men of European ancestry have an easy time plowing through mestizo, mulatto pussy. It is a big catch for those darker women if they can snatch a man like that.
