What about Dutch people? They are heavily Germanic in ancestry.
Is there a significant amount of native Dutch people with brown or hazel eyes?
The most common eye color in Germany is brown, this is true, at a frequency of 31.07%. This is different in comparison to Scandinavian countries where blue is the most common eye color. Baltic countries are not Germanic though so why are you comparing them? Geography says it all.

My Dutch great-grandfather had brown eyes. But his family were blue or hazel-eyed.

Do not get too carried away, though. The majority of the ethnic Dutch and ethnic Germans have light eyes.
