I'm on the fence, probably leaning more towards a yes.
It's a cultural practice held in quite major esteem by my own ethnic group, and a practice that seemingly doesn't yield particularly life altering changes. Studies are inconclusive as to any benefits or drawbacks. If it is studied more in depth and is found to significantly reduce sensitivity (which has been claimed but not proven beyond doubt) or something of the sort, probably not.

My mum was born in the UK but in her teens moved to live with her dad's side of the family residing in AJK. Later on in her teens she left them and lived alone in the region, but returned to the UK afterwards. I'd say she lived there about 5 or 6 years? She can still understand some Pahari but I was never taught any or raised in any sort of Pakistani culture. She wanted me to be raised in European culture
