They are subtitled and many Romanians learned a little Spanish from them. I can't speak Spanish though.

Now mostly Turkish soap operas are popular, but in the 90s and 2000s Latin American ones were popular and they still play some, including old ones. The most popular ones were those with Thalia, Natalia Oreiro and especially other Mexican ones, but also Brazilian, Argentinian, Colombian, Venezuelan. The Clone(Brazilian) and Ugly Betty(original Colombian one) were popular.
