I wonder how can you join the army or be overpatriotic in any western country with cases like that.

I put more value local paramilitary protection than fed. I appreciate the military but for me personally I am just not for the bureaucratic meat grinder it has become. I think states and counties should rely on the militia, build bonds and rely only on the federal military for protecting the borders and maritime access points/trading routes. I do understand though that we can't just do away with our foreign commitments etc.

Good point. And the icing on the cake is those degenerates would insult You upon returning back from service protecting their worthless hides. In a real case of conflict western countries with all their identity politics and fractions would collapse worse than the Austro-Hungarian army in ww1.

Personally I think this a result of peasants being allowed to be in power; the strong should rule over the weak not to subject them but to protect them. I am all for unalienable rights, but not when they are weaponized to subvert the principles upon which they are founded.

I respect people who serve our country. With that being said, I personally could never serve our corrupt government like that. The people in charge and those who are rich enough to have political sway, are too pussy to join themselves so they let American citizens be their cannon fodder. Protecting our country is one thing but doing other people’s shady dirty work is fucked up.

Especially when they fuck us over after like putting Shia's in power in Iraq or abandoning the Kurds. The real problem like you said starts from the top. I respect the individual soldiers but the leadership civil and martial are both janky. That's why I am more of a puritan and quasi libertarian.
