Maybe because our wourld is dominated by the ones that own the means of informations and these tend, in vast majority of the times, to be predator themselves?
Maybe that explain why so many women get on abusive relationships?
( because their idea of masculinity is falsified and highly influentiated by the media. And what they consider as "alpha" actually tend to means just psychopath/sociopath features, be it expressed either on physical trats or in personality traits).

But predators don't really tend to be masculine( not more testosterone) and are often homossexual.( they get with women mostly because of interest)
So it doesn't makes sense.
That is certainly not the reason.
Also, were not many upper paleolithic societies supposed to be matriarchal? They even worshipped women as godessess if i am not mistaken.
I think this confusion comes mostly both:
1- Shitty hormones.
2- Confusion caused by mental manipulation through the media, be it directly or undirectly( like subliminar messages, yes these work).

To some degree the idea that younger women/girls can be socially conditioned to like feminine men is true (e.g. the rise of KPOP being fuelled by a mostly young female fandom), but at the end of the day women are pretty much hardwired to break away from that at some point.

Sociopaths and psychopaths exist in both weedy men and physically imposing ones. But the media representation of the 'sexy psychopath' fantasy male is typically physically attractive/imposing too, so there's that

Being an Alpha Male does not mean being an abusive prick to women. It's not about brutality or cruel violence, it's about physical dominance. Yes, being physically abusive to a woman does show her that you're an alpha male on some level. Doesn't mean beat her arse (except in the bedroom) or act like some stock 1920's abusive husband.

But you could show her that by fighting another male in front of her, beating his arse, then picking her up and tossing her and catching her. You don't need to be an evil savage to be physically dominant.

It is very similar to Gorilla society hierarchy and various primate mini-cultures where if the males are ultra violent and are abusive to their females, the whole females will move entirely over night to a different region without the male. This leaves the former alpha abandoned to fight off the bachelor group. Meanwhile the females keep moving until they find a completely different sect of males separate from both the local bachelor group and the previous male hierarchy.

In all honesty it actually directly translates today with zero interracial problems between white men and any other different ethnicity woman. Similar to Neanderthal men fucking the women coming out of Africa along with Cromagnon women.

What do you mean by predator? There are plenty of ugly ass killers who are very intelligent and good at what they do and women wouldn’t touch them with a 10 foot pole just based on their looks. It really is all about looks in life don’t kid yourself.

In primates aside from Chimps (who are extraordinarily brutal), most dominance is displayed through posturing. That's why sexual dimorphism is important, it eliminates the need for a male to really have to display dominance in a physical manor aside from the most testy and ambitious males. I studied Gorillas for about 8 weeks for an anthropology final via webcam and at the zoo, I noticed males really don't show a lot of emotion, they are usually very stoic and the emotion I did see was females playing with the males and males playing with babies. Gorillas can be funny sometimes.
