High numbers (%) all together ... as I was afraid. Incl. that soup free gun laws .... in reality lots of guns etc. in the hands of people. Standard procedures & normal behaviors of US polices can not be compared to some European countries ... for example against Finland.

Violent society <=> hard / violent polices.

If Floyd was in fact resisting arrest, it would give an officer a legitimate reason to restrain him.

0:17-0:27: with what he said here, the Minneapolis Police Chief threw his own officers under the bus. All of those who are/will be charged are legally entitled to a fair trial, and that can only happen when the members of a jury pool are unbiased. Roiling the waters before the trial even starts doesn't help matters. The verdict to come will speak for itself, and there is no need to add it.

For those who are certain about what actually happened to Floyd, please consider this: if the people in a community have become biased without any possibility of change, then defense counsel will request a change of venue, and that could delay the trial.

Europeans do not understand the situation in the US.

Throughout Europe, at least since the 1990s, the police have been highly militarized, something that could never happen in the US, as we are always on guard against militarism (at least domestically).

But you are right about crime: Europeans have no idea just how bad the crime situation is here, and the fact that --very rarely--a cop may be interpreted as overusing force, is nothing compared to the general level of crime that terrorizes everyone (even if you're not a victim yourself, you are a victim of being forced to live in specific, high-rent, communities for some amount of security, thus leading to what liberals refer to as segregation and racism).

lol, they don't really know how the US police works. From the moment he was identified, police had access to all of his history, including traffic fines and any misdemeanor. Armed home robbery is one of the worst crimes when judging the criminal past of a person and his level of danger. For those who worry they could have been killed for having a fake $20 bill no worries, if you have no prior crimes and you don't resist arrest you will be fine.

Why is the guy at 1:12 not just urging parents to raise their kids properly and to be able to avoid altercations with the police in the first place instead of the dumb "what if it was your kid?" if he really cares so much?
