I would like to hear Americans opionion: In which European countries they think they would live like ''King of the Mountain'' ... based on their incomes?

(Year 1713 Tzar Peter the Great ordered his army to destroy Ostrobothnia completely.)

In regards to Mexico, it depends on the area, good quality houses almost cost the same as in the U.S., same thing with vehicles. You also end up paying more for some electronics, and so forth.

    Food is cheaper though.

Some properties in the Monterrey Metro Area.

$183,645.27 US DOLLARS (similar price of an average house in a middle class subdivision in the U.S.A)

    $201,561.89 USD

    $1276.56 USD / Monthly rent
[Apartment in Monterrey metro area] This is basically a middle class house monthly payment in the U.S. midwest.

    $1,468,980.80 USD (Higher end house)

    $1,746,654.00 USD (Higher end house)

If you really want to be a baller and got $ 4 MILLION US Dollars

Re Colombia: while the countryside and smaller towns may still be pretty cheap, I can affirm the big cities are not.

Average American won't live like a king anywhere in Europe. A skilled software developer in Sofia with 10 years of experience makes around $4k a month which is close to American average income I guess. You can live comfortable life, buy a house, travel and so, but don't expect to live in a mansion or have personal chef. In some European countries the average American might actually live worse than in USA.

Especially given how many European countries have higher costs of living than the US (except for healthcare, of course).

Well from I heard from my friends, they tend to avoid Western Europe(like some posters here indicate) and head straight to Eastern Europe. Some of the countries I've heard of are Poland and Ukraine.

To find out you need to do some math (house financing in 20 years max 1/3 salary). Water, electricity, gas, food more basic expenses (clothing, dentist, etc.). At end leftover 1/4 of the salary ?
