Why do Northeast Asians in Western countries date/marry out much more than South Asians do?

After all, when in their own countries, Chinese, Koreans and Japanese are at least equally ethnocentric, ethnonationalist, xenophobic etc. as are Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. (Yes, and this includes how they regard Whites, to a certain extent). So how come Northeast Asians living in various countries in Europe, Australasia and the Americas - especially the women - marry out at incredibly high rates? Japanese-American women marry out about 65% of the time, and I believe the figure is similar for Japanese-Brazilians too (and they started doing so even earlier in Brazil than in the US). Chinese women in Britain also marry out around 40% of the time, while the figure is lower but still considerable for Chinese men.

By contrast, in the UK, South Asians marry out barely more than Whites do, despite being a much smaller percentage of the overall population. Indians in the UK marry out around 10% of the time, while the figure is even lower among Pakistanis and Bangladeshis here. (In all three groups, the men marry out marginally more often than the women). One can also observe how endogamous South Asians are in many other countries in the West (plus also parts of Africa and some Pacific Islands). So much for the assumption shared by both intersectionalist leftists and White supremacist rightists that people of other races prefer Whites to their own.

What explains this disparity? Do Northeast Asians tend to be more open-minded, friendly and easy to assimilate? Do Westerners view Northeast Asians as being, overall, higher-status and more attractive than are South Asians? Are religion and tradition big factors? (Since when did Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism have anything to do with the West?)

On unconscious level I think that NE Asians and whites blend together easier than with South Asian populations. They kind of compensate each other. Some relatively high percentage of white females are fond of cute NE Asians. And whites males find timid NE Asian females easier to manage also when Asian female is cute it is associated with stronger femininity.

In NE Asians both genders have their unique appeal for white people. While in case of South Asians I think that females would be less popular then men among whites.

Culture and religious reasons.
1) East Asians are ethnocentric and collectivist on a national level, but they are not endogenous like south Asians, because they don't have caste systems for thousands of years like Indians/Pakistan/Sri lanka did. East Asians lived in homogeneous meritocratic societies with Confucian framework, where anyone, farmer boy or aristocrat can succeed by studying hard for imperial examination, and marry who they want if they succeed.

2) Female freedom. Modern East Asian women have more private and sexual autonomy. S. Asians on the other hand, operate on a more clannish hypergamous system of marriage. This done to keep wealth circulating within the family, and caste related reasons, so women's autonomy is limited and is linked with family honor.

3) Modernity. East Asians, while retaining their native culture better than LATAM and non Muslim SSA folks, are still more westernised than South Asians. If you wear an hanfu in streets of Seoul and Xi'an, people will look at you strangely, but if you were a Sari in the streets of Mumbai, no one will bat an eye. Even in Japan, kimonos are worn for special occasion.

4) Religion. Hinduism does not promote conversion, and is an endogenous religion (like Judaism). Islam is more universalist but is culturally antithetical to the west. Most S. Asians are very religious (you still have sectarian riots in India, Pak chased out most of its native Hindu and Sikh population in its punjab region). East Asians by contrast, are very secular and irreligous, which is more compatible with modern western society. Confucianism, taoism, Shintoism and even Buddhism (originated in S. Asia) is mild in E. Asia.

I think because of cultural reasons - South Asians are quite closeted in their own groups, but east asians are more willing to interact.

In universities for example you will find lots of east asians with shared interests and willing to go with the flow a little more. Lots of guys also find east asian women quite hot as well. There are loads of white bloke + east asian lady couples.

Japanese people for example drink a lot of beer, including the women, which certainly helps.
