    I don't find though Moldovans to be a good equivalent of what you suggest. And the most southern shifted (some southern? Poles) are more likely to cluster with Slovenes, Croats than with Moldovans.

    Cool, 'sea' in Polish is 'morze', much like the Romance languages - 'mar', 'mare', 'mer' etc. I have noticed that Polish has quite a lot of Latin influenced words, such as 'autostradzie' and 'posso'.

    The word for sea is more or less the same in all Slavic languages and comes directly from proto-Slavic. The similar words for it that exist in Romance languages are just cognates.

    Yes, we do. More than for instance in Czech language, but they againwe have a lot of made-up artificially words for those terms.

    Yes, they do (saying this as someone who live in town where 1/3 of population are Slovaks).
