Surely their employers have health and safety rules in place for hazardous situations. You can't blame the police when people put themselves in harms way. At least wear safety glasses or the like. It is not as if every other person out there hasn't a camera on them today. Take safe distance shots and use internet obtained media from those foolish enough to be involved confronting the law at night and after curfew. This is no time to act the hero.

It's good advice. I'm with the police on this thing, and I'm against the Protests and Riots. But, like you said, staying safe is important for everyone involved, and resolving this thing at a cheaper cost helps.

Fury is a film about an innocent man ("Joe Wilson", played by Spencer Tracy) who is accused of kidnapping, and a mob tries to lynch him before he is brought to trial. The jail in which he is confined is set ablaze by the mob, but Wilson manages to escape before he would have been killed. Afterward, the authorities bring members of the lynch mob to trial for murder, not knowing that Wilson has escaped. He has become filled with a desire for revenge, and so he stays in hiding as the trial proceeds, for a time. As the trial continues, Wilson relents, and turns himself in.

I'm not saying that this film is perfectly analogous to the George Floyd case. But perhaps the feelings of at least some of today's rioters are the same as those of the lynch mob in the film.

Yes, Wilson was innocent, while that is yet to be determined in this case. Even so, innocence or guilt should still be officially determined only by a calm, sober-minded, unbiased jury, which has access to all of the evidence. Of course, we all have a right to our own opinions, but they should remain opinions only. No one should act out their anger by going into the streets to riot. The rioters should ask themselves this question, and answer it honestly: are we on our way to becoming a lynch mob?

This post may be as useful as spitting into the wind, but it can't hurt to try.
