Hispanic is not considered a race on the census. A Spaniard is supposed to mark white and Hispanic while a mestizo for example is supposed to mark two or more races and Hispanic.

I'm not brown, and there's more to race than skin coloration. The word, Hispanic, isn't a racial term but rather an ethnic one which is true for Arabs and Jews. There are white people who are Hispanic as well as Blacks who are Latinos and so on.

Spaniards are white, they aren't Hispanics. Hispanics are New World whites mixed with indians. Never seen anyone call a Spaniard or refer to a Spaniard in America as Hispanic.

who says that? Hispanic is an ethno-linguistic category, not racial similar to Arabs who are also a pan ethno-linguistic grouping. Ethnicity =/= race. In a racial sense, Spaniards are not regarded as Hispanics or Mestizos.

It's bullcrap, for instance, back when the Chinese suffered oppression, in the USA : there was poor Chinese community in California with high rates of tuberculosis , yet, their crime rate was way lower than the black average crime rate. I can't find the source of that information right now because it happened so long ago and it was in a book I read a very long time ago. The point is not about that one community the point is Chinese people are facing increased discrimination from the pandemic and if one wanted to do an experiment and recreate ghettos of poor Chinese people : I would bet you a million dollars or more that Chinese crime rate would still be substantially lower than black crime.

Also, some might argue that Chinese oppression was of a different kind ,somehow than black oppression, well guess what ? Go no further than the Irish who came to America in similar conditions e.g. coffin ship, dirt poor and oppressed : all oppressed groups in America have become successful within a generation or two except blacks. It is to a significant degree a matter of intelligence and organizational skills or lack there of which makes them failures.

im not seeing it's the only factor but culture like the ghetto "gangsta rap" (or any similar culture) isn't a good way to help the afro-american (or any other community) "become successful"

What they really mean by white is Caucasian or pred Caucasian. Hispanics are generally mixed race, more so than Lebanese, etc..
